Week 6- first fill

Well Friday May 15 was my 6 weekiversary.

I have lost 27 1/2 lbs.

Today was my fist fill and they put in 3cc's into bandito. They started by numbing the area and they put in a longer needle into the port. Once they put the needle into the correct location, you have to sit up and drink water as they inject the band with fluid. It's the craziest thing- you can feel the restriction tighten as they fill it. And as you drink they adjusted it compared to how it went down. I thought 3 cc's was a lot but Misty got 5cc's her first fill. Hope it was enough.

For about an hour or two- I thought i was choking and I wouldn't be able to eat. I guess that was my little pain attack for the year. So it's clear liquids for a day then soft food for a day then it's anything with control.

5 Weeks ago

This last Friday was the 5 week post-op. Life is getting easier and better. I am still learning about "Bandito" and what is good for him. By the way, I named my lap band Bandito since he is a big part of my life.
I am down 22 lbs in the 5 weeks- something i have tried for years to do. My clothes are getting too baggy. 'I am scheduled for a possible fill on May 18. I am excited for it since I am finding I am able to eat more and quicker this last week. I also am finding I am hungrier more. I am trying to be strong but oh so hard. I also am scheduled to return to work on the 19th of May. Boo all good things have to come to an end.
